Last summer, Jurassic World Dominion, the third entry in the Jurassic World trilogy and the sixth film in the overall Jurassic Park series, was released to gigantic success at the box office. With a total gross of well over a billion dollars, Colin Trevorrow’s sci-fi epic was third in 2022 to Avatar: The Way of Water, and Top Gun: Maverick, and plans have been cooking for future installments. In the last week, more people have been catching up with Jurassic World Dominion as it was added to Prime Video, and, despite the movie’s money-making power, it’s the worst sequel so far in the franchise....

Windchill Films, an affiliate of Snowfall Films, today announced it has signed Grindstone Entertainment Group for domestic distribution of its award-winning horror/thriller feature film, Seance. Grindstone was launched earlier this year by Mandate Pictures, the highly regarded film finance, international sales and production company which itself was acquired last month by Lionsgate. Actor Jason Flemyng has signed on for Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming superhero film X-Men: First Class, according to Empire. The British actor will portray Azazel, the father of Nightcrawler in the X-Men universe. Here’s an excerpt from the site’s article. The site was also able to confirm that Flemyng’s Azazel will be red, as opposed to Nightcrawler’s blue-skinned character. It wasn’t clear, at this time, how big Flemyng’s role in the film will be, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted with any updates on X-Men: First Class as soon as we have more information....

20th Century Fox has started shooting Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, at Pinewood Studios and surrounding locales in London, England. Its been rumored that some of the first scenes being filmed involve Charles Xavier attending Oxford University debating the mutant phenomenon, and Erik Lensherr dealing with the horrifying events in Auschwitz via a flashback sequence. Set in the 1960s, the film will show us how James McAvoy’s Professor Xavier and Michael Fassbender’s Eric Lehnsherr/Magneto first meet and discuss their similar goals of mutants and humans living together as one....

X-Men: First Class doesn’t hit theaters for another month and a half, but that hasn’t stopped director Matthew Vaughn and his cast from discussing potential sequel ideas. Vaughn has revealed that the ending of X-Men: First Class definitely sets itself up for future sequels. Here’s what he said. Yellowstone does not have an “anti-woke” agenda according to Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the hit series. On Sunday, the anticipated fifth season of Yellowstone will arrive on Paramount Network as the series continues to garner high viewership. While many fans will be watching, it would appear that not every critic is thrilled, as some have suggested that Yellowstone is a series that intentionally pushes conservative values. Investment company Continental Entertainment Capital has agreed to help finance Will Eisner’s The Spirit, now in postproduction, according to The Hollywood Reporter. CEC is an affiliate of CitiBank and has partnered to help provide production and distribution financing for the film. Will Eisner’s The Spirit is being directed by comic-book legend Frank Miller, who wrote the screenplay based on the comic by Will Eisner about a rookie cop (Gabriel Macht) who returns from the dead to fight crime from the shadows of Central City....

Zac Efron has become the latest actor to wind up in hot water with PETA. The organization, whose name is an acronym for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has put the High School Musical star on blast after the release of a video ad featuring Efron interacting with a bear. Per TMZ, the video has drawn criticism from PETA as the bear who co-starred with Efron in the clip has spent its entire life in captivity, making the video ironic....
