Jaden Smith is set to star opposite his father, Will Smith, for director M. Night Shyamalan in an untitled sci-fi adventure, it was announced today by Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures. Shyamalan and Will Smith will produce with James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith and Ken Stovitz, Smith’s partners at Overbrook Entertainment. The screenplay is by M. Night Shyamalan and Gary Whitta. Given the critical acclaim for his impressive performance in Elvis, it’s probably just a matter of time before Austin Butler makes his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A big-screen version of the hit musical Wicked has been in development almost as long as the stage production has been in existence, but finally, it appeared to gain a solid footing late last year with an announcement that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo had been cast in the lead roles of Glinda and Elphaba respectively. Director Jon M. Chu has now shared a few snippets of information about the audition process, noting that no one was “given a free pass” and the auditions of both leading ladies brought him to tears and directly led to their casting....

Today FX announced that Season 3 of its original comedy series Wilfred will premiere on Thursday, June 20. Viewers will be treated to two new episodes airing back-to-back at 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM ET/PT for the first two weeks of the season, followed by a July 4 hiatus. Beginning July 11, Wilfred will resume airing single episodes each Thursday at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
