The creator of hit Youtube series Fantastic Adventures has been arrested and charged with abuse, neglect and unlawful imprisonment of her seven adopted children. Machelle Hackney created the successful Youtube channel by using her children in superhero-like themes. While the camera was rolling, everything looked great for Machelle as she racked up over 250 million views, but behind the lens there was a story of horrific abuse and neglect not revealed until her arrest last week....

It’s been a minute (and four months or so) since Will Smith struck comedian Chris Rock during this year’s Academy Award ceremony, but the King Richard star and now Oscar winner has, at last, sat down and issued an apology for the incident. It has been expected for some time that Will Smith would address the situation again and offer his apologies, and while many thought the actor would choose a high-profile platform such as a talk show to do so, he has instead decided to simply sit down and make a YouTube video....

Academy Award winner Will Smith has now opened up about what went through his mind during the infamous Oscars slap. Appearing on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (via Variety), Smith described the event, which saw the actor finally walk away with the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the biographical sports drama King Richard, as “a horrific night.” Now known as “the slap heard around the world,” Smith took to the stage during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony and struck comedian Chris Rock across the face after he made a joke at Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith’s expense....

As we reported here, Paramount has been planning a scene or two connecting the upcoming Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk films (likely in preparation for a future Avengers film.) William Jackson Harper, known primarily for his role as Chidi Anagonye in the television series, The Good Place, is an American actor born in Dallas, Texas in 1980. He is one of a select group of actors who has experience on the stage, television, and the big screen. Mad Men star January Jones becomes the latest to join Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, according to Deadline New York. Jones will be portraying Emma Frost in the film, a role that Rosamund Pike was previously rumored to play. Alice Eve was also offered the role of Emma Frost, although the site reported that no deal could be made, which opened the door for Jones to step into the role....

We reported two days ago that Inglourious Basterds star Michael Fassbender was deciding between two superhero films, both in villain roles, and now we have new information on what character one of those villains may be. Bleeding Cool is reporting that the main enemy of the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot will be The Lizard. The site didn’t have any other information, and couldn’t clarify that The Lizard was indeed the character that Fassbender would be playing if he signed on....

Drafthouse Films, Timpson Films and Magnet Releasing have secured genre heavyweights Xavier Gens (Frontier(s), Hitman) and Christopher Smith (Severance, Black Death) to join Noburo Iguchi (RoboGeisha) and Kaare Andrews (Altitude) along with 21 other directors to make up the talented roster behind The ABCs of Death, a twenty-six chapter anthology feature that showcases death letter by letter. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is continuing his work with comic book franchises, as he will reportedly star as the titular character in the upcoming Wonder Man series for Disney+. Deadline broke the news, with the series that was first announced in June beginning to round out its cast. The Hollywood Reporter revealed the first details surrounding the series earlier this year, with Destin Daniel Cretton developing the show while Andrew Guest serves as head writer and executive producer....

Rogue Pictures’ The Hitcher, from filmmaker Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes production company, has finalized its main cast with the addition of Zachary Knighton. The actor joins Sean Bean and Sophia Bush in the remake of the 1986 terror classic. Dave Meyers is directing the new film, which begins production this month. The screenplay has been written by Jake Wade Wall and Eric Bernt.
