James McAvoy is set to play a younger version of Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier in the Marvel mutant prequel X-Men: First Class. McAvoy didn’t look at it as a chance to reboot the character so much as channel various aspects of Patrick Stewart’s performance while bringing a fresh perspective to it. Wu-Tang Clan member RZA has revealed that a four part docuseries on the iconic hip hop group will air on Showtime. The series is called Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men and the poster reveals that “C.R.E.A.M. Rises to the Top.” This is huge news for Wu-Tang fans who have been waiting for an update on the project. The docuseries is separate from the recently announced Wu-Tang: An American Saga scripted TV series for Hulu, which is currently in development....

Actor Zach Braff has set his next directing project on the dramatic feature A Good Person. The film will hit theaters early next year and features some familiar faces. Braff is no stranger to the director’s chair, first stepping into it with 2004’s Garden State. The Scrubs lead also directed several episodes of the iconic medical comedy and an episode of Ted Lasso in 2020. After a brief hiatus, A Good Person will mark the actor’s first directed feature since 2017....

The Hulu sitcom Woke is over. Per Deadline, Hulu has officially canceled Woke after two seasons on the streaming service. This news follows season 2 arriving in its entirety in April, leaving the future of the sitcom on the bubble with no word of a renewal since. The series originally premiered on Hulu in September 2020, both seasons each featuring eight episodes. No season 3 is in the works which means that season 2’s finale will now serve as the series finale as well....

Fans were tuning in in droves when 1923 had its premiere on Paramount+. Per TVLine, the Yellowstone prequel series managed to pull in 7.4 million viewers when its first episode dropped on Sunday night. This was across all platforms through Paramount+ streaming and Paramount Network airings, and while it’s not clear how much of that number consists of streaming viewership, 1923 is said to have smashed a previous record set at the platform....
