Nintendo has made a decision regarding their Wii console that could boost its popularity even more. In a story from Video Business, it seems that the gamemaker is going to offer “DVD movie playback” on the new console. Apparently, the Wii will be updated with “the feature in 2007, using a software engine provided by Sonic Solutions.” It seems “back when the Wii was code-named Revolution, DVD playback was part of the specification via a small internal add-on....

When Avatar blasted into theaters in 2009 it took the concept of 3D movies to a level that had never been seen. Damien Chazelle’s epic tribute to the debaucherous pre-Hays Code Hollywood is nearly upon us. Babylon hits theaters a couple of days before Christmas, on December 23rd. That puts its release just one week after that of another epic Hollywood movie, Avatar: The Way of Water, which is set to hit theaters this December 16th. Both movies have incredibly long runtimes for theatrical films, with Babylon at 3 hours and 8 min and The Way of Water at 3 hours and 10 min....

For six years, Xena: Warrior Princess valiantly graced TV screens everywhere. She first appeared in the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys series and was originally meant to die. However, creators John Schulian and Robert Tapert tapped R.J. Stewart and Sam Raimi to develop the warrior princess into a Wonder Woman-like character. Xena: Warrior Princess starred Lucy Lawless (Parks and Recreation) as Xena and Renee O’Connor as Gabrielle, Xena’s companion. The warrior princess is from the ancient city of Armphipolis and must use her fighting skills to redeem herself from previous mistakes....

We take you inside your first look at the film! Movieweb.com was recenly fortunate enough to attend a preview of the upcoming film, Spider-Man 3 - which included the first look at the real Sandman - on the Sony lot in Culver City, California. On hand was Avi Arad, executive producer of the film and director, Sam Raimi, as well as some of the other special effects artists. We walked into the Cary Grant theater, sat down, and got an introduction to the film by Sam; he explained to us we’ll be seeing a ‘scenelit’ of the final project....

2020 was a rough year for most of the world for a multitude of reasons, one of which was the shocking and untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman. Boseman was a wonderful human being who had quickly made a name for himself in Hollywood with starring roles in films like 42, Get On Up, and the MCU’s Black Panther.
