Charles Leavitt (The Seventh Son) has signed on to write the screenplay for Legendary Entertainment’s video game adaptation World of Warcraft. Sam Raimi had originally been attached to direct, although he was forced to drop out, due to his involvement with Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful. Legendary is said to have responded positively to the new writer’s take on the material, which may keep the languishing project moving forward as they try to find a new director....

Get ready to laugh because You, Me and Dupree comes to DVD November 21 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Synopsis: Fresh from their Hawaiian honeymoon, newlyweds Carl and Molly Peterson (Matt Dillon and Kate Hudson) take in Carl’s best man, Randy Dupree (Owen Wilson) after he loses his job for attending their wedding. Party animal Dupree quickly overstays his welcome with Molly by plunging the Peterson’s well-ordered household into comic chaos with his irrepressible bachelor shenanigans....

Actor Will Forte has landed roles in the upcoming indie project Run and Jump and a voice role in the animated TV series Allen Gregory. These are his first roles since leaving Saturday Night Live last summer. Run and Jump comes from Steph Green and Ailbhe Keogan, with Maxine Peake, Brian F. O’Byrne, and Sharon Hogan also set to star. No plot details were given, although the project will be shot on location in Ireland this May....

Hollywood is all about trends. As soon as one studio sees another studio make money off a property, they immediately try to copy-cat the attempt by creating something as similar as they can while giving it their own unique twist. This leads to oversaturated gaps where every new TV show or movie being released revolves around the same central premise. In the ’80s, there was a brief moment where every film or TV show coming out was either a spy/war project or a teen dramedy, focused on relating to the young audiences that either felt a strong sense of pride in their patriotism or the need to rebel from established hierarchies....

While they have both been dominant presences in their respective Star Wars and Star Trek franchises, Mark Hamill and William Shatner have never worked together on a movie to TV series. That is now changing as Shatner was revealed to be a new addition to the voice cast of Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution. While Hamill is returning for the second season of Netflix’s franchise sequel/reboot in the role of Skeletor, there has been no confirmation of who Shatner will play in the series, but it already has fans stoked for the new episodes....

The latest Game of Thrones Season 8 images paint a pretty dark picture. HBO has released six images from the upcoming episode 3, which is when the battle against the dead will begin. The episode clocks in at 82 minutes and is directed by Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards helmer Miguel Sapochnik. It has been rumored that this battle is going to put the Battle of the Bastards to shame when all is said and done....

Actor Oliver Platt has signed on for a mysterious role in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming film X-Men: First Class, according to Deadline New York. Platt will play the non-mutant role of The Man in Black in the film, although more details on the character weren’t given. Platt joins a cast that already includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Caleb Landry Jones, Edi Gathegi and Jason Flemyng....

Back in 2019, Disney made a massive, landmark $71.3 billion USD deal with Fox; acquiring 21st Century Fox Studios. This included a variety of channels, and such, from FX to National Geographic. But for Marvel Studios (and fans everywhere) this acquisition brought the rights to the X-Men and The Fantastic Four to Disney, and the characters can now be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First appearing in The X-Men #1 in 1963, written by the legendary Stan Lee, along with the equally great Jack Kirby; it is the story of the people known as the “Mutants”, who were born with special powers due to the X-gene....

YellowJackets is a psychological thriller and survival drama series on Showtime about a teenage girls’ soccer team stranded in the wilderness after a plane crash. The story is conveyed through a timeline containing a series of flashbacks that switch between the memories of past events and the present lives of survivors. The surviving members are depicted by a cast of counterparts who must work together to individually portray the teenage and adult version of each character; including Melanie Lynskey and Sophie Nelisse as Shauna, Juliette Lewis and Sophie Thatcher as Natalie, Christina Richie and Samantha Hanratty as Misty, Tawny Cypress and Jasmine Simone Brown as Taissa...

The Good It’s always good to a see a cast of upcoming actors showcased in a show like this. The Bad Overall, this show just didn’t feel very authentic. I don’t know what I was expecting from The Young Riders: The Complete First Season, but I was and I wasn’t disappointed. This fictionalized show begins in 1860 as we see the main cast members become Pony Express Riders. Within this group there just so happens to be people like “Buffalo Bill” Cody and “Wild Bill Hickock....

We may finally get that Willow sequel, it just won’t be a movie. Instead, according to Ron Howard, it’s being discussed as a TV series for Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+. We’ve been hearing buzz here and there about a possible sequel to the 1988 cult classic for a handful of years now. Yet, nothing has materialized. That may change in the relatively near future though. Ron Howard, who directed the original Willow, working from a story by Star Wars creator George Lucas, was recently a guest on a podcast....
