20th Century Fox has set Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen the screenplay for its X-Men spinoff, Deadpool. According to Variety, Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as the wisecracking mercenary he portrayed in last year’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There is no timetable on the Marvel property, though Reynolds has a window after wrapping the Green Lantern this summer. Reynolds has been bulking up to play the DC Comics’ hero Green Lantern, which starts production next month....

Another series has just bitten the dust as Paramount+ is pulling the plug on Why Women Kill. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the series had previously been renewed for season 3 with the order for another season coming in back in December. However, the streamer has opted not to move forward with season 3 of Why Women Kill after all, officially canceling the show after two seasons with plans to shoot the third season nixed....

If you are a fan of the macabre and horror, then surely you caught director Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities when it was released on Netflix in October. The horror anthology was created by Del Toro specifically for Netflix, with the episodes being released two at a time over a span of four days. With each installment ranging from 38 minutes to just over an hour, del Toro made it possible for eight different filmmakers and directors to bring their visions for these stories to life....

PredatorLunch is reporting some interesting news on Predators. This film, that Nimród Antal is directing and Robert Rodriguez is producing, has been generating a lot of buzz since some character and behind-the-scenes featurettes went viral. Now however, that buzz is going to be facing a pretty rough test. A source close to Predators is saying that a CG version of Arnold Schwarzenegger (who made an appearance in McG’s ill-concieved Terminator Salvation) is in fact going to be making an appearance in this new film....

Wrath of the Titans is a mediocre sequel to a bad film. The filmmakers could only do better than the cinematic swill that was Clash of the Titans. The 2010 remake was a colossal disappointment, so my expectations were fairly low here. The story and characters are paper thin, but the action scenes and special effects are pretty impressive in Wrath of the Titans. Enough so that the spectacle more than makes up for the paltry script and cardboard acting....
