Anthony Mackie is currently circling two high-profile projects, with an offer out for the actor to star in World War Z, and for a role in The Gangster Squad for Warner Bros. It isn’t clear what roles he would have if the actor signed on to either project at this point. Anthony Mackie is currently shooting Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter for 20th Century Fox. World War Z is based off the best-selling novel by Max Brooks, which features tales of survival from the few who managed to stay human after a worldwide zombie infestation....

A new extended scene has arrived in advance of the Blu-ray and DVD release of X-Men: First Class, which hits shelves on September 9. Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) make their way to a strip club to recruit the winged stripper Angel, portrayed by Zoë Kravitz. Paramount is going to scare you in July. In a story from DavisDVD, the studio has tapped July 24 to release David Fincher’s San Francisco, serial killer epic, Zodiac. Upon first viewing, Scott Cooper’s film The Pale Blue Eye, which received its worldwide premiere through Netflix on Jan. 6th, appears to summon cinematic elements from the frost-bitten terrains of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant and the vast woodlands of Debra Granik’s Winter’s Bone. Like Iñárritu’s 2016 Academy Award-winner, The Pale Blue Eye, based on author Louis Bayard’s bestselling 2003 novel, is a tale of painstakingly cunning retribution. Featuring a young Edgar Allan Poe in a reimagined entity (a common theme in several of Bayard’s other writing — the recreation of historical fact), Cooper’s dramatic thriller is often a hauntingly gripping murder-mystery that is evocatively multi-layered....

The MCU has always been rife with cameos. Given the fact that the Avengers franchise and its innumerable spinoffs represent some of the most popular entertainment products on the planet, it makes sense that some famous folks would want to pop their heads in from time to time. Additionally, the franchise owes its existence to the comic book series that originally introduced this superhero team to the world. After a month of laying low, Will Smith was spotted in India as he made his first public appearance since his infamous Oscars slap. At the 94th Academy Awards, Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock for joking about his wife Jada’s shaved head. She suffers from the autoimmune disease alopecia, which causes rapid hair loss, and Smith wasn’t pleased by the joke. He subsequently won the Best Actor award for King Richard....

Every great franchise inevitably takes a step back, but to portray “X3: The Last Stand” as anything less than disappointing is mincing words. Zak Penn, the scribe who is best known for adapting such comicbook properties as The Incredible Hulk and X-Men for the bigscreen, has signed on to write and produce The Argonauts for 20th Century Fox. According to Variety, Fox’s version of The Argonauts is based on Penn’s original take on the classic Greek tale. In Greek mythology, the Argonauts were a band of heroic sailors who, in the years before the Trojan War, accompanied Jason to Colchis in his quest to find the Golden Fleece....

Paramount’s World War Z is currently in post-production, working towards a December 21 release date. The project is adapted from Max Brooks’ novel, although both the studio and director Marc Forster are keen on expanding this adaptation into a trilogy.
