A Bone Adaptation Would Be a Victory
Image Comics
These older comics are very beloved and are for fans of something a little retro and fun. They have a similar style and feel to Looney Tunes or Moomin, which have had many opportunities to be seen on big and TV screens, so why not give this classic fantasy series a chance?
The graphic series follows Fone Bone and his two cousins as they find a strange map that leads them through various fantasy landscapes, not all of which are very friendly. An adaptation for Bone has been long-awaited by fans yet continues to be snubbed by production companies. If this graphic series ever gets the adaptation it deserves, it would be a victory for those that read the stories. It would be a cinematic project that unites multiple generations with a classic art style and stories that everyone can enjoy.
There are a myriad of options for comics and graphic novels out there, and there’s no way to know what Hollywood might choose to pick next. There are die-hard fans waiting to see something they love get a chance to be recognized on screen for all sorts of stories. The only thing we can hope for is that the adaptations do them justice.
