Yellowjackets is set to return to Showtime on Friday, March 26, and as we got to see the first official trailer this week, now we can enjoy a set of new images that prepare us for what’s next on the acclaimed drama that surprised audiences in 2021.
The new photos feature the four leading ladies in the present day timeline: Melanie Lynskey as Shauna Shipman, Tawny Cypress as Taissa Turner, Christina Ricci as Misty, and Juliette Lewis as Nat.
These four will be joined by new additions to the cast as the adult versions of other survivors not yet seen in the present, including Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) as the adult version of Van and Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as the adult version of Lottie. Also joining the show is Elijah Wood, who will play a new character named Walter, who will be challenging Misty, along with Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, and Kevin Alves. The new images can be found below.

What’s Yellowjackets About?
SHOWTIME
The series tells the story of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and that what began out in the wilderness is far from over.
Moving between 1996 and 2021, the show slowly answers questions posed in the present day that often uncover harrowing truths about the main characters. These puzzles are tentatively solved as the episodes continue, although, by the end of Season 1, it is fair to say there may be more questions than answers. The finale provided twists aplenty, with the main twist regarding the fate of Lottie (Courtney Eaton) still keeping the gobs of fans smacked to this day. So Lottie’s new life, such as what happens with Van in the present, will be the strongest points to consider for the new episodes. And, of course, the importance of the new characters, especially Wood’s, who has been a total mystery for the fans.
After a successful first season, Showtime renewed Yellowjackets for season 2, and way before its premiere, it has already been granted a third season that will probably arrive some time in 2024.
