Yellowstone does an excellent job depicting the harsh conditions of a modern-day cowboy, and it’s possible that no one had it rougher than Jefferson White’s Jimmy Hurdstram. His character has been on the series from Paramount Network since the beginning, going from a criminal to a well-equipped ranch hand following his time in Texas. The character has even found a calling at the rodeo, though he’s taken a step back after suffering severe injuries.
Jimmy’s character development has been one of the most satisfying to watch over his four seasons on Yellowstone. Fans have begun to wonder if White’s character will ever return to Montana with the rest of the series regulars. Of course, Jimmy moved to Texas and the 6666, where he eventually engaged Emily (Kathryn Kelly). It may be best for the character to remain there, away from the drama that’s plagued the Yellowstone Ranch for generations. During an interview with TVLine, White teased what’s to come from his character in Season 5 and what his hopes are for Jimmy.

Jimmy quickly became a fan favorite in the series, as his motives differ from the main characters of the Dutton family. At this point, the ranch hand wants peace and a happy life, while John (Kevin Costner) and the rest of the family consistently seek more power. Fans can see how the drama unfolds when Yellowstone Season 5 returns later next month, on Nov. 13.
“He chose Emily, and he chose this new life in Texas. I cross my fingers that it’s smooth sailing for him because it’s a beautiful thing. It’s the first time in his life he has a little bit of agency. There’s certainly more Jimmy in store. Whether it’s Montana or Texas, you’ll have to wait and find out.”
The Yellowstone Universe is Expanding

Yellowstone quickly became a hit for the Paramount Network when it was initially released in 2018. With a fantastic script and ensemble cast led by Kevin Costner, the modern-day Western was sure to find an audience. Fortunately for the team, multiple spinoffs have come to fruition over the years.
1883 arrived in December 2021, showcasing the origins of the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west. Again, the series featured an excellent cast, including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliot, and Isabel May. Though the prequel was only one season, fans won’t have to wait long for an additional spinoff. 1923 is set to arrive later this year following the conclusion of Yellowstone Season 5. The series once again stars an A-list ensemble, including Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Robert Patrick, and Marley Shelton.
A third spinoff is in the works titled 6666, based on the real Four Sixes Ranch Jimmy is sent to in Texas. Details surrounding the series are scarce, however, it should be an excellent addition to the expanding universe created by Taylor Sheridan. Fans can first tune into Yellowstone’s fifth season, premiering on Nov. 13.
