The fourth season of the twisted hit Netflix series, You, has now entered production. Confirmed via the official Twitter account for the series, You season 4 has the production team “feeling YOU-4-ic,” as “YOU Season 4 is now in production.” While little is yet known about the next season of You, expect to see lead actor Penn Badgley reprise the role of Joe Goldberg, a handsome, charming man who maybe loves just a little too much.
Produced by Warner Horizon Television, in association with Alloy Entertainment and A&E Studios, the first season of You is based on the 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes and introduces audiences to Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, a brilliant male bookstore manager who crosses paths with an aspiring female writer. What begins as a heart-warming, yet awkward crush grows into something much more sinister when the writer becomes the object of Joe’s merciless obsession. Using social media and the internet to become close to her, Joe begins to remove any obstacle, including people, that stand in his way of getting to her.

The show’s second scene moved Joe to Los Angeles and saw the series itself shift from Lifetime to Netflix as a Netflix Original series. Season 2 finds Joe attempting to escape the mistakes of his past and now living under the name Will Bettelheim. He soon meets avid chef Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) and quickly begins falling into his old patterns of obsession and violence. The ending of Season 2 successfully reinvents the show, with Joe discovering that he and Love have a lot more in common than he realized.
The most recent outing for You landed on Netflix in October 2021, and picks up where season 2 left off. Joe and Love are now married and raising their newborn son, Henry, with Joe struggling to navigate through his new suburban nightmare. Once again, Joe finds himself falling back into his old habits of obsession and violence, despite his best efforts, only this time Love flips the script to ensure that her dream of having the perfect family will not be torn away so easily.
