The third entry in Disney’s zombie franchise is here! In the past, this musical told the stories of how zombies and werewolves would interact in an average town setting. With many finding the monsters as allegories for how humanity often treats one another for their minor differences, the series has offered plenty of insight and provoked mature conversations.

And in addition to the conversations the film series can spark, there are plenty of catchy songs to catch the audience’s attention. With the inclusion of aliens in this entry, more electronic beats were featured throughout the film, with plenty of callbacks to past songs. Here we’ll go over which song is the best from Zombies 3 (2022).

7 Ain’t No Doubt About It

     Disney+

While Zed & Addison have had a wonderful relationship throughout the franchise, some seeds of doubt begin to show throughout this song. As the couple starts to sing about how positive they feel about their future, they have quick asides where they both admit that they are young and that nothing is certain after they graduate high school.

While they both have doubts, they remain perfectly in sync, singing together and dancing alongside one another, utterly oblivious to the large truck driving behind them as they dance in the middle of the street. They manage to cross many pitfalls, both literal and metaphorical, as they work together. While the song may not be the most catchy, it is still a fun duet between the premier couple.

6 I’m Finally Me

A running story arc throughout the franchise has been Addison’s desire to find where she truly belongs. Growing up in a town where any abnormality could lead to her being outcast, Addison was pressured to hide her white hair. This would lead Addison to become a sympathetic figure to monsters as she fought for the zombies to have equal rights and spoke up for the werewolves despite it being proven she was not one herself.

After the alien’s arrival on Earth, it would be revealed that the first of their kind to arrive in Seabrook was Addison’s grandmother. She had decided to stay after falling in love and giving birth to her daughter, Addison’s mother. While the alien technology wouldn’t immediately work with Addison, her powers would begin to develop, and she would sing about the feeling of finally finding herself.

5 Nothing But Love

Wrapping up the film is a rendition encapsulating the lesson the City of Seabrook learned. That love is all one needs to keep in their heart to have a happy life. With Addison finally finding her identity, she’s helped teach her fellow aliens that her grandmother never left Earth because Earth was the planet her people could go to when their home was destroyed. Reunited with Zed, they sing of how they and all their friends carry nothing but love in their hearts.

We also see nods to other relationships formed throughout the film, such as Wyatt and Eliza connecting despite the distance Eliza’s new job had created. Having gotten a glimpse of Wyatt’s mind, Eliza would reciprocate his feelings, and the two would reunite during the final number. We also see the burgeoning relationship between Willa and A-Spen, an LGBT coupling that had spawned after Willa’s harsh mistrust of A-Spen’s intentions.

4 Come On Out

Willa would lead her pack on a hunt for the aliens when they had discovered evidence that the aliens had begun tampering with their precious moonstone. The wolves would get to sing another impressive power song, something they had become known for after their debut in Zombies 2 (2020). The trio of Willa, Wyatt, & Wynter would hunt for the aliens, taunting them as they sang.

What would truly imprint on the listener’s minds is the fact that the werewolves don’t just consider this a quest to protect their moonstone. Showcasing their growth from the second, the wolves have come to consider all the people of Seabrook their responsibility. Willa is afraid the aliens will harm the city and thus leads her pack to protect all those they care for. With such lines as “Don’t mess around with Zombietown, we’ll hunt you down, wherever you are,” sending chills down the aliens’ spines, audiences would become even more endeared with the ferocious power of the pack.

3 Exceptional Zed + Reprise

By themselves, Exceptional Zed and its reprise don’t leave much of an impact, but when considering the songs together, they do tell a beautiful story of a young man who begins to see himself the way his friends and family do. Zed has always tried to keep a positive outlook on life so that his friends and family could be treated fairly by the community, but he had never been forced to look at himself before. That would all change when he was interviewed to become the first zombie accepted into college, potentially.

As Zed would be encouraged by the community he helped build, during the first entry of the song, his interview would go haywire after Addison’s powers began to develop and interfere with his Z-Band. Zed would sing a short reprise, stating that his being different is not exclusive to his being exceptional. Reflecting on how he’s not unique because the werewolves and zombies of Seabrook all carry a talent that makes them exceptional, Zed would use the reprise to give one of his touching speeches that moves the interviewer enough to provide him with the scholarship and accept him into college.

2 Alien Invasion

The film’s opening song would see the City of Seabrook turned into chaos when the alien’s mothership enters the skies of Earth. The mothership’s entry causes energy shockwaves which damage the surrounding area. Humans, zombies, and werewolves alike begin to panic. Willa starts to lead her pack into making defensive moves while Zed looks for Addison, who seems to be the only person remaining calm throughout the situation.

The song features a great mixture of the classic sounds found throughout the franchise and layering in the electronic beats accompanying the aliens. A brief dance battle commences despite Addison’s pleas for everyone to remain calm and approach the aliens with kindness. When all was said and done, the aliens’ debut into the City of Seabrook coincided with the most catchy song of the film.

1 Someday

The love ballad featured in Zombies (2018) returns in the trilogy’s final entry. Originally a song about how Zed and Addison wished their romance could be normal someday, this song is now sung by the entire city after having to say goodbye to Addison. Zed would begin the song, reminiscing on his relationship, looking up into the sky, hopeful of the day Addison would return.

Zed would be joined by his little sister, who had come to support her brother through everything. Shortly after, the entire town would begin to sing a ballad, including Willa, who had briefly felt a spark with A-Spen. Calling back to the franchise’s roots and reflecting on how far the ensemble had come in their journey, this song ranks the highest thanks to the sentimental value and unity many can find in love.
